About The Position

Malanai LLC is recruiting a Research Analyst II to support the US Department of Transportation (DOT) National Highway and Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) effort. The Research Analyst II will use experience in a specific automotive research field; know industry trends and issues in the specific field. Analyze data and write reports and report research and test results in various formats. The Analyst will also conduct statistical analyses and interpret statistical test data at an expert level.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Environmental Science, Engineering, Data Science, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Experience in a specific automotive research field; knows industry trends and issues in the specific field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and skills in managing multiple projects.
  • Ability to attend and make presentations at automotive industry conferences and meetings and collect information in area of specialization.
  • Ability to analyze data and write reports and report research and test results in various formats.
  • Ability to conduct statistical analyses and interpret statistical test data at an expert level.

Nice To Haves

  • Competency in PDF editing and documents comparison software (e.g Adobe Acrobat).
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (especially Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, formulas, and macros).
  • Proficient with data analysis and management tools.
  • Experience with Sharepoint, Teams, or other document collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously gain experience/knowledge in a specific automotive research field; know industry trends and issues in the specific field.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research in support of Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) program including compliance cost, fuel economy, technologies, and environmental impacts.
  • Analyze vehicle market data, manufacturer compliance reports, and regulatory.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of engineers, investigators, and policy.
  • Ensure high-quality, timely deliverables in alignment with contractual requirements.
  • Analyze data and write reports and report research and test results in various formats.
