About The Position

This position is part of the investment research team and supports manager research efforts within the Capital Management Group (“CMG”). Executes selection and monitoring processes for investment products utilized within CMG's portfolio solutions. Facilitates timely, appropriate investment decisions by CMG through analysis and research. Provides crucial analytical insight into investment products, asset allocation, and investment markets to manage risk and support business goals. Communicates manager research insights and performance updates to internal wealth partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Direct credit/bond research in a total return environment OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Direct credit/bond research in a total return environment

Responsibilities

  • Investment Research – Perform screening, research, and due diligence on investment products. Makes product recommendations tailored to the needs of the wealth organization. Thoroughly documents the process with attention to accuracy and completeness and takes ownership of the search process and final recommendations.
  • Monitoring - Interprets and monitors data related to investments, portfolios, and markets. Analyzes data for potential risks and performance drivers. Conducts periodic manager calls and other investment specific analysis. Effectively communicates analysis in written and verbal formats and proactively seeks opportunities to incorporate this analysis into portfolio construction process.
  • Reporting- Compiles comprehensive investment performance documentation and materials for investment committee presentation and other internal stakeholders. Ensures accuracy, completeness and adherence to established procedures and standards.
  • Business Support - Develops and maintains written materials outlining the selection and monitoring processes, CMG's portfolio implementation process, and the underlying investment products utilized in portfolio solutions. Provides written updates and conducts periodic conference calls with internal wealth partners to keep them informed of manager research insights, investment performance, and updates to recommended investment products. May work with internal and external clients in sales, relationship management, and training efforts.
  • Product/Platform Development - Spearheads new product or platform initiatives intersecting manager research responsibilities. Drives the selection, monitoring, and due diligence of private investments to be utilized by FCB Wealth clients. Supports ESG investment solutions and Institutional Wealth's 3(21) and 3(38) business through selection and monitoring of mutual funds on these platforms.
