A long-term vision for SeQUeNCe is becoming a (popular) simulation tool for researchers in the field of distributed quantum computing. To achieve the vision, we need to design and implement some missing pieces, including but not limited to a model for QPU, distributed quantum compiling. Currently, SeQUeNCe has some basic DQC capabilities including remote gates (e.g., remote CNOT), circuit partition, qubit allocation, but the functionalities are not advanced and not robust. So, lots of developments are needed. We are interested in how the quantum communication impacts the performance of distributed quantum computing, such as the scalability, algorithm accuracy, and noise/error.
