About The Position

The position involves coordinating the collection and entry of research data, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of the data extraction process, and building a standardized database of patient research cohorts for the core lab research data repository. Responsibilities include conducting chart reviews and extracting clinical and pathological information from electronic medical records while complying with HIPAA regulations. The role also includes assisting with digital pathology research operations, which involves digitizing pathology glass slides, working with an image management system for integrating digitized slides and associated meta-data, and exporting and de-identifying images and research data. Additionally, the position requires performing basic statistical analysis for preliminary data presentation, writing short reports summarizing research findings and progress, and documenting research workflows and protocols in a clear and concise manner while maintaining the protocols up-to-date and adhering to regulatory standards as required.

Requirements

  • Student must be enrolled in a matriculated undergraduate or graduate program at a SUNY University.

  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
