About The Position

The Research Projects Manager will be responsible for the effective operation, organization, and compliance of a biomedical research laboratory at UNMC . This position supports the Principal Investigator (PI) in advancing the lab’s scientific mission through the execution of research projects, management of laboratory operations and personnel, and oversight of regulatory and safety compliance. The ideal candidate is an experienced and highly organized individual with strong technical, administrative, and interpersonal skills. Overarching duties include the following: Plan, coordinate, and lead research activities to ensure successful execution of projects under a Principal Investigator (PI) within the Child Health Research Institute. Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations and research protocols in collaboration with the PI, trainees, and technical staff. Develop and manage project timelines, deliverables, and status reports to ensure alignment with research objectives and funding requirements. Maintain laboratory organization, equipment, and supply inventories while supporting a productive and collaborative research environment. Ensure compliance with institutional, federal, and state regulations, including IRB , IACUC , IBC , and biosafety requirements. Serve as the primary point of contact for the PI and study teams regarding project coordination, operational needs, and regulatory documentation.
