About The Position

We are currently searching for an outstanding Research Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant (PA), Nurse Practitioner (NP)) to perform patient care and scientific research services in support of research performed at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute’s (NHLBI). This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Bethesda, MD. Function within a team of clinical providers and research support staff to support the coordination and execution of NHLBI research protocols. Support biomedical research protocols. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team, patients and families to enhance clinical practice and care. Facilitate learning for patients and families. Perform medical management of patients incorporating critical thinking skills with advanced clinical practice and research skills by integrating experiential knowledge and evidence-based practices

Requirements

  • Master’s degree
  • 2+ years of experience supporting clinical trials and/or research initiatives.
  • Must have experience working with both adult and pediatric patients.
  • Has an active Maryland license (NP or PA) to practice within the respective discipline or is scheduled to sit for the certification examination.

Nice To Haves

  • Recent experience in hematology, oncology, or stem cell transplant and/or biomedical research is beneficial but not required.
  • Specialized experience with Family Medicine and/ or a FNP certification is a plus.
  • Be able to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
