About The Position

The Rescue Technician plays a crucial role in providing technical rescue standby for customer projects, including confined space and technical rope rescues. This position involves assessing risks, preparing rescue equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. In emergency situations, the technician is responsible for locating and assisting injured individuals, providing first aid, and coordinating with emergency medical services.

Requirements

  • 2 years of relevant rescue experience required.
  • Confined Space Entrant/Attendant Certification.
  • Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
  • First Aid with AED certification.
  • First Responder certification or better preferred.
  • Haz-whopper certification.
  • 4 Gas Monitor Operation Training.
  • Familiarity with OSHA Atmosphere Limitation.
  • Proven proficiency in rescue operations.
  • Ability to inspect, clean, and perform preventative maintenance on rescue equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in industrial hygiene and onsite emergency medical treatment.
  • Knowledge of safety training and fire protection protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical rescue standby for customer projects including confined space and technical rope rescue.
  • Assist in assessing potential hazards and draft a Confined Space Rescue Preplan and Rescue Safety Analysis (RSA).
  • Identify and communicate potential hazards to all affected parties.
  • Determine hazard controls and emergency contingency plans, ensuring safety equipment and PPE are available and in good working order.
  • Conduct general air quality monitoring and make recommendations for hazard control or personal protective equipment.
  • Conduct daily job briefings with customers and workers.
  • Perform ongoing monitoring of job conditions and equipment resources, reporting observations to the supervisor.
  • Complete daily Incident Command System (ICS) reports.
  • In case of an accident, locate the patient, assess injuries, package for extrication, and turn over to EMS.
  • Render first aid and CPR as trained.
  • Follow guidelines for handling, inspection, cleaning, and preventative maintenance of rescue equipment.
  • Maintain and accurately inventory all rescue-related equipment.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.
