About The Position

The Rescue Swimmer position involves advanced rescue techniques and equipment, handling various rescue situations including high hoists, confined areas, elevated platforms, off-center hoists, water rescue, and boat operations. The role requires participation in operations during both day and night, often in adverse weather conditions. Responsibilities include packaging and handling patients from the scene into the helicopter, assisting flight paramedics in patient care, and performing post-flight decontamination of the helicopter. The position also involves inventory, inspection, minor maintenance, and tracking of rescue equipment and aviation life support equipment. Additionally, the Rescue Swimmer will assist with ground rescue operations and participate in Safety Management System (SMS) activities to promote safety culture and report aviation safety-related issues.

• Well versed in advanced rescue techniques and equipment.
• Knowledge of applicable industry safety standards, safety regulations, protocols, and procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to changing business demands.
• Strong communication skills, maintaining confidentiality and honesty.
• Ability to interface well with internal and external clients and the public.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in operating hoisting equipment and systems.
• Familiarity with medical treatment protocols for survivors.
• Experience in conducting safety briefings and debriefings.

Responsibilities

• Participate in rescue operations during day and night, often in adverse weather conditions.
