About The Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Field Support Representative (FSR) to support the US Coast Guard (USCG) Rescue 21 System in St. Petersburg, FL. The selected candidate will be located within 75 miles of St. Petersburg, FL, and will work out of their home with a GDMS supplied vehicle, tools, and supplies necessary to maintain the Rescue 21 sites. The primary responsibility of this role is for equipment and system support of the Rescue 21 communication and direction-finding system at remote sites in USCG Sector St. Petersburg. The FSR will provide emergency repair response coverage and total system preventive maintenance coverage which will require driving for site access. Field activities will include installing, maintaining, integrating, troubleshooting, testing, and servicing of fielded systems/products at customer sites. The FSR will diagnose, isolate, and repair any mechanical, hardware, software, or system failures using established procedures, specialized test equipment, and diagnostic equipment. This role will act independently in most situations and will prepare and submit periodic status reports and inventories as required by operational procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 25 weeks of military technical training school and 6 years of related experience, or 2 years of directly related non-military technical trade school and 6 years of related experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 2 years of related experience.
  • Industry certifications are highly preferred.
  • Field service or technical activity experience is preferred.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the US Coast Guard Rescue 21 System in St. Petersburg, FL.
  • Drive a company supplied vehicle to cover a minimum of 13 Rescue 21 sites within Florida.
  • Provide emergency repair response coverage and total system preventive maintenance coverage.
  • Install, maintain, integrate, troubleshoot, test, and service fielded systems/products at customer sites.
  • Diagnose, isolate, and repair mechanical, hardware, software, or system failures.
  • Prepare and submit periodic status reports and inventories.
  • Conduct technical seminars and training for customers and field service staff.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on site ancillary equipment including generators and HVAC.
