About The Position

The EMBRACE Lab is part of the department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh. We conduct research on the development of severe psychopathology, including suicide, personality disorders, and aggression. Our research studies focus on dyadic relationships that are central to risk and resilience for these disorders. Responsibilities include collecting research data; administering parent‑ and child‑reported interviews and assessments; conducting laboratory‑based tasks; and acquiring physiological data. The role also involves checking, uploading, and scoring HR, HRV, and PEP data using MindWare HRV and IMP software. This position is grant funded.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Business Administration or related area of study and three years of relevant research and/or clinical experience is required.

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of project spending and funds available.
  • Coordinate the daily activities and special projects for department.
  • Coordinate scheduling of assessments.
  • Assist with quality assurance over all aspects of data collection and management, including data flow, data entry and verification, maintenance of all project databases, data security and confidentiality.
  • Provides regular supervision for junior staff.
  • Responsible for preparing and modifying IRB protocols, Regulatory Binders, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with the research, clinical, and administrative staff related to this research.
  • Coordination of recruitment ie. Advertisements, tracking recruitment, and developing strategies to increase response in targeted populations.
  • Responsible for the submission of regular reports detailing the progress of the research, including NIH progress reports.
