KBR's National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country's most critical role - protecting our national security. KBR (formerly LinQuest) is the prime contractor on the MSEIT contract. By applying to this position, you are in consideration for KBR employment. However, you also have the option to be hired by one of our subcontractor teammates. You will join a systems engineering team defining the next generation of space communication systems supporting US Space Force (USSF) satellite communications. You will support Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) activities in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment. You will interface and collaborate with SE&I team members, contractors, government civilians and members of the USSF. You will lead and support several working groups responsible for leading technical discussion, resolve and identify risk, requirement gaps, developing briefings, writing, and tracking action items, and authoring meeting minutes. The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the US Space Force's Space Systems Center (SSC). We support the Space Force's acquisition of state of the art satellite communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation's warfighters.   • Apply Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) to support the development of technical baselines
  • Generate requirements that translate stakeholder needs and expectations into a clear, concise, and verifiable set of specifications for a system
  • Analyze system requirements that define the technical baseline and verification of the technical baseline (TRDs and ICDs)
  • Work with Government and contractor personnel to close gaps in flow of customer requirements decomposition from system and component levels with the ability to use DOORs
  • Lead and support Government/Contractor Working Group meetings—create briefings, lead discussions, and write minutes—to resolve risks, requirement gaps, and action items
  • Develop and maintain proposed changes to the technical baseline for impacts to enterprise capabilities and to cross-stakeholder integration concerns
  • Facilitate review of program documents by providing comments, compiling other reviewer comments, and working with contractors to adjudicate the comments
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to assess technical issues and to prepare briefings to U.S. Space Force management
  • Support management of risks, issues, interdependence, identifying schedule disconnects and conflicts, developing action plans for resolution, and assisting the Government in executing selected solutions
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is required for this position
  • BS degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or network and telecommunications
  • 10+ years demonstrated experience in systems engineering
  • 4+ years with system specification, verification, or analysis
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and tools used to support requirements development and traceability
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Organization capability with ability to handle competing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate ideas, recommendations and options to customers, senior leaders, and stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • MS degree in one of the following technical disciplines: engineering, physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science
  • Certifications in Systems Engineering (INCOSE ESEP, CSEP)
  • Certifications in MBSE (OCSMP)
  • Certifications in Agile Development
  • Knowledge and experience in Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with MILSATCOM, such as AEHF, EPS, WGS, and Tactical SATCOM or COMSATCOM
  • Experience working with military or DoD civilian clients
  • Experience with space and ground systems, such as satellite communication, ground terminals and DoD networks
