About The Position

We’re looking for a dynamic, dependable Youth Sports Representative to help create an organized, positive, and memorable experience for players, coaches, and families. If you thrive in an active environment and love bringing calm to game-day excitement, this role is for you. As our on-site Game Day Lead, you will: Serve as the YMCA’s friendly and professional presence during youth sports events Support volunteer coaches with logistics, communication, and equipment Assist with set-up and take-down of fields/courts and supplies Act as a liaison for parents — answering questions and resolving concerns with care Monitor safety and ensure YMCA policies are followed Help create an environment where every child feels welcomed and supported You’ll be the steady, positive leader who keeps game day running smoothly. The Representative, Sports working as part of the Sports Team, will deliver world- class customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming and safe environment at the YMCA by enforcing YMCA sports rules and philosophies. The incumbent will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA. Requirements

• Minimum age of 16
• Sports knowledge and understanding of YMCA rules and procedures
• Strong customer service, problem solving and communication skills with the ability to relate well to participants, coaches, and families; can handle conflict when necessary
• Possess a positive and professional attitude

Nice To Haves

• Youth sports experience
• Customer service or leadership experience
• CPR/First Aid certification (Need to obtain within 30 days of hire.)

Responsibilities

• Maintain courteous, friendly, helpful attitude in a positive manner towards participants, coaches and parents, while officiating games and keeping safety as the number one priority
• Keep an orderly playing environment where games start and end on time; be aware of surrounding weather conditions and delays or postpone games as determined by the YMCA guidelines
• Recite sports oath with players and coaches before each game; evaluate coaches and program quality a minimum of twice during the season (mid-season and end of season); report any inappropriate or problematic behavior, other observations and/or complaints to supervisor
• Follow and enforce all YMCA procedures and policies, including YMCA sport model and sport specific rules, personnel guidelines, safety guidelines, facility access procedures and membership policies.
• Carry out emergency plans as necessary
• Maintain a clean and safe playing environment; survey gym/field for possible hazards and take initiative to clean up/repair areas; set up and tear down any necessary equipment and report damaged equipment or any unsafe conditions to your supervisor
• Be the primary responder to any accidents/incidents and fill out appropriate paperwork as needed
