How You Will Make Contributions That Matter Visits dairy farm producers to communicate organization information, conduct testing, resolve issues and discuss methods of improving milk production and quality. Conducts sales calls on non-Saputo producers to gain/maintain milk supplies. Provides producers with guidance to comply with sanitary regulations per the Food & Drug Administration, US & WI Dept. of Agriculture, Pasteurized Milk Order and other farm management systems. Requests and monitors plate counts and other milk quality tests, testing in SCC and Cryoscopes, and then follows up with cow and/or goat producers on results and troubleshooting issues. Completes antibiotics and acidity tests for adulterated milk on farms; determining the viability of milk use for processing. Completes sampling of water from producer wells and glycol samples of producer glycol chillers. Coordinates culture samples, testing and results. Assists applicable farms with preparing for federal surveys and transports survey officers during farm surveys. Remains abreast of farm survey regulation revisions and updates and ensures producer farms are in compliance. Conducts calibration of bulk milk tanks to ensure accurate weights and measures of milk. Participates in Field Representative meetings within the organization. Builds relationships with current and prospective producers and industry representatives. Complete all assigned paperwork, including production/packaging records, Master Cleaning Sanitation Lists, schedules, accident reports and investigations, and any other paperwork. Performs all other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • A 4-year degree in a related field or 4-5 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of both
  • Ability to be on call and remain approachable and accessible to producers at all times
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism and positively represent and promote Saputo at all times
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to identify, define, and solve problems
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License
  • WDATCP Bulk Weigher and Sampler License and WDSC Weights and Measures License or the ability to obtain
  • Certification under the National Farm Program or the ability to obtain
  • Strong working knowledge of computer programs (i.e. Excel, Word).
