About The Position

The Reporting and Response Coordinator and Senior Title IX Officer serves as a key team member in the University’s compliance with federal and state civil rights laws. This position plays a central role in overseeing, managing and responding to reports of protected class discrimination and harassment, including sexual and gender-based misconduct. As a member of the Office for Equity Compliance and Reporting, the Reporting and Response Coordinator and Senior Title IX Officer will report directly to the AVP for Institutional Equity, Accessibility, and Compliance and will serve as the primary recipient of all reports and complaints, initial contact person, and will also manage all resolution processes. This position will work closely with the Director of Investigations and Title IX Coordinator to make initial recommendations as well as evaluate and respond to reports. As a member of OECR, the Reporting and Response Coordinator and Senior Title IX Officer will serve as the primary entry point for University community members and other covered parties as defined in the Nondiscrimination and Anti-Harassment, Title IX, and Sexual Misconduct policies, to report or seek information on University’s policies related to discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct and seek and receive support and interim measures. This role has independent decision making as to the initial disposition of matters within OECR and authority to determine and implement supportive measures on behalf of the Director of Investigations and Title IX Coordinator. The incumbent will work closely, on a case-by-case basis, with the Office of General Counsel, University Human Resources, Campus Life, Athletics, other campus partners, and the Director of Investigations and Title IX Coordinator. In addition to the above-mentioned duties, the incumbent's responsibilities as Senior Title IX Officer include developing informational materials and implementing training programs for faculty, staff, and students on reporting and adjudication processes related to equal opportunity, non-discrimination, Title IX and other related topics.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a field related to the primary duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of related experience in conducting intake of matters, overseeing the progress of matters, setting and meeting deadlines, and public speaking in a higher education, non-profit or other relevant setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to gender-based discrimination and harassment and sexual misconduct.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply civil rights laws to individual reports and complaints.
  • Ability to quickly and competently assess and respond to situations.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing confidential information and independently managing a significant caseload.

Nice To Haves

  • At least two years of related experience in higher education non-discrimination compliance.
  • Working knowledge of trauma-informed practices.
  • Working knowledge of typical university policies and procedures related to discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct.
  • Knowledge of contemporary issues surrounding discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct in the university setting.
  • Knowledge of the Maxient software.
