Marketplace is looking for a general assignment reporter. The ideal candidate has proven radio reporting abilities, and a passion for covering business and financial news in Marketplace’s explanatory and accessible style. Marketplace’s mission is to raise the economic intelligence through the unorthodox story, a conversational approach, and a focus on distinctive angles on the news. We are looking for curious reporters interested in breaking down complicated or misunderstood topics for a diverse audience. A general assignment reporter will cover daily stories and occasional features on subjects from corporate news to consumer behavior, housing to the changing workforce, macroeconomic trends to the financial markets. This position sits in the collective bargaining agreement between MPR and Screen Actors Guild—American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (“SAG-AFTRA”). Expected Compensation Range: $75,000 - $90,000 USD annualized. Exact rate determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure, and internal equity. Work Location: Remote
