Job Summary/Description: The #1 CBS affiliate in Florida's capital city has a rare opening for an anchor/MMJ to join the team that leads the best news coverage in the region. The right candidate is a seasoned newsroom leader, an eager coach and mentor, a talented storyteller, and possesses a heart for community service projects. The ideal candidate will embrace a digital-first mindset and be able to contribute content through our streaming desk.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years anchoring and reporting in a commercial newsroom
• Non-linear editing experience
• Degree in journalism
• A valid driver's license, good driving record, and proof of insurability
• Candidates with fewer than 5 years of relevant experience will not be considered.

Responsibilities

• Anchors our traditional broadcasts and our digital streaming newscasts
• Works with co-anchors and producers to ensure story selection and quality of broadcast are clean, compelling, and consistent
• Demonstrates ability to connect with viewers and the community both on and off the desk
• Generates story ideas
• Can shoot, write, and edit stories for broadcast and digital
• Contributes content to digital platforms
• Build local contacts and relationships
• Other duties as assigned
