What You’ll Learn: The Purchasing Intern will play an integral role in supporting daily purchasing and inventory management activities. Interns will gain hands-on experience placing and managing purchase orders, maintaining inventory levels, and collaborating with suppliers and branch partners. This internship provides practical exposure to supply chain and purchasing operations and serves as an entry point into potential post-graduate, full-time opportunities within the organization. Internship Overview: 10–12-week program beginning May 2026 Full-time, 40 hours per week; Monday–Friday schedule Competitive hourly pay Where You’ll Work: This is an Onsite position. Our corporate office is located at: 7440 S. Hwy 121, McKinney, TX 75070 What You’ll Do: As a Purchasing Intern, you will support the end-to-end purchase order process to ensure consistent in-stock levels across assigned branch locations. You will conduct daily reviews of assigned suppliers using our ERP system to determine replenishment needs and place purchase orders in alignment with established buying guidelines. You will action all backordered items and expedite requests daily, making informed decisions to update or maintain order status. In addition, you will manage purchase orders from creation through closure, including sending POs, confirming supplier receipt, validating costs, updating shipping details, and tracking expected receipt dates. You will also contact suppliers regarding open or aged line items, document updates, and follow through until orders are fully received and closed. This role includes collaboration with location managers and Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies, adjust item costing, add freight or handling charges, and support timely PO closure and payment.
