Requirements

  • Demonstrated proficiency in soldering.
  • Proven ability to read and understand drawings, work instructions and test procedures.
  • Proven ability to read wiring schematics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and repair electronic instruments devices, occasionally remotely over the phone.
  • Proven ability to understand standard units of measure and to set-up and interpret results of various measuring devices.
  • Ability to perform standard software operations including UPS and SAP
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push and pull up to 20 pounds without assistance.
  • Proven ability to use power and hand tools, and custom tooling.
  • Strong manual dexterity for use of tools and performing work on small components, requiring fine finger manipulation and hand steadiness
  • Ability to work independently and complete multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate with various levels of the organization and with customers.
  • Ability to handle/maintain various types of cylinders and regulators.
  • Ability to regularly perform work that requires magnification and distinguish among different color coatings on wires
  • Ability to operate at a level that meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards for the work area.
  • Willingness to work on various product groups and work flexible shifts
  • Ability to wear safety glasses ANSI Z87 approved, steel toe shoes and other PPE as required
  • Associate’s degree in electronics or electronic technology
  • 3 years of relevant work experience with electronic instrumentation may be substituted for an associate’s degree
  • Minimum 12 months electronics manufacturing or related experience
  • Soldering experience

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in electronics
  • At least 6 months experience repairing electronics
  • R.I.T.E., C.A.R.E., F.I.R.S.T certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, modify, calibrate, adjust, and troubleshoot moderately complex instruments.
  • Perform initial evaluation by examining instrument and analyzing needed repairs. Crosscheck findings with customer comments, regarding instrument performance.
  • Prepare cost estimates for repair of instruments, prepare and submit documentation to Service Coordinators and/or customers regarding repair efforts.
  • Picks parts from the warehouse. Transfers material to shipping dock.
  • Pack and ship instruments according to customer specification, generate delivery notes and determine method of shipping.
  • Ensure that the instrument is received with the correct paperwork and maintain service order documentation for repairs performed.
  • Maintain relevant information in computer systems.
  • Complete and maintain associated paperwork.
