About The Position

This role involves performing various overhaul, rework, repair and associated operations on aircraft equipment and components in both standard and non-standard environments to maintain flow of work while practicing and complying with environmental, health and safety directions and procedures. The technician will perform duties in accordance with work instructions such as service manuals, technical orders, and blueprints, ensuring quality standards are met through disassembly, rework, repair, inspection, and assembly. Key tasks include maintaining quality-compliant documentation, performing various inspection operations (receiving, process review, visual, dimensional), and managing records like unit history and routing sheets. The position requires operating computer terminals for information retrieval and entry, reviewing customer service instructions, ordering parts via an automated system, and utilizing precision measuring equipment. Additional responsibilities include preparing units for preservation, cleaning parts, monitoring PH levels, expediting materials, performing detail or sub-component level tests, verifying work, and supporting customer witness needs. The role also involves process improvement, problem-solving with colleagues and supervision, and performing minor and preventive maintenance on equipment, while maintaining an organized workspace.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of related experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the aerospace environment.
  • Experience in the manufacturing environment.
  • Experience reading and following engine component maintenance manuals.
  • Prior experience reading blueprints.
  • Experience with arithmetic involving decimals and fractions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work in accordance with various work instructions such as service manuals, workbooks, service bulletins, technical orders, blueprints, customer service instructions and other written and verbal instructions within established methods and procedures.
  • Perform various duties to accomplish disassembly, rework, repair, inspection, assembly, final process and associated operations on various products utilizing proper procedures and techniques in order to conform with quality standards.
  • Ensure that all documentation such as specifications, procedures and forms and applicable tools, gages and fixtures are quality compliant and traceable.
  • Perform appropriate inspection operations including, receiving, process review, visual and dimensional checks, and documentation compliance.
  • Prepare, maintain and monitor all necessary records such as check lists, log sheets, unit history records, routing sheets and schedules.
  • Operate computer terminals to retrieve, enter or verify information.
  • Review customer service instructions to determine extent of service to be performed, generate documentation to determine appropriate routing of hardware.
  • Perform external visual check for damage and abnormalities and record on unit history record and/or receiving inspection form.
  • Order all necessary parts by utilizing automated parts inventory system.
  • Prepare supplemental sales order requisitions as required.
  • Utilize measuring equipment such as surface plate, dial indicators, height gages, micrometers and ohmmeters to perform required checks.
  • Prepare units for preservation.
  • Clean and degrease parts as required.
  • Monitor PH level for aqueous cleaners.
  • Obtain, move and expedite units, parts and materials within shop to support operations.
  • Perform test at detail or sub component level.
  • Verify work performed.
  • Support customer witness needs as required.
  • Improve process and solve problems in cooperation with fellow employees and supervision.
  • Perform minor and preventive maintenance such as check fluids levels, lubricate fittings, clean or replace filters, replace bulbs and tighten fittings and/or hardware.
  • Keep equipment and surroundings neat, clean, and organized.
  • Perform related duties as required within the scope of this job function.
