Requirements

  • Typically requires Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 2 -5 years of experience.
  • In-depth product manufacturing comprehension including rationales.
  • Solid working knowledge of regulations (ISO, OSHA, employee relations, etc.).
  • Advanced working knowledge of manufacturing systems.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing costs and influences.
  • Manages through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and staffing.
  • Typically manages 2 or more direct reports.
  • Has experience with HIGH product THROUGPUT environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Semiconductor or Circuit board manufacturing a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manages a single department and/or shift, ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • Oversees ISO-compliant and cost-effective manufacturing of specific products or sub-products.
  • Prioritizes and adjusts production schedules based on new product introductions, equipment efficiency, and material availability.
  • Develops, implements, and administers operational procedures.
  • Plans staffing levels and manpower requirements to meet production targets.
  • Leads systematic troubleshooting of production and test failures, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Analyzes failure trends, yield data, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinates cross-functional problem-solving efforts involving manufacturing, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams.
  • Provides detailed repair feedback to the manufacturing team to eliminate recurring defects and improve product reliability.
  • Supports failure analysis activities, including documentation, reporting, and verification of corrective actions.
  • Exercises sound judgment within established policies and procedures to select effective methods and techniques for resolving technical and operational issues.
  • Collaborates regularly with subordinate supervisors, customers, and cross-functional managers; may also engage with senior management.
  • Facilitates coordination between functional areas, divisions, and customers to ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Supports the Test Engineering Manager in coordinating departmental activities, with accountability for cost control, methods optimization, and staffing effectiveness.
