About The Position

The Repair Center Technician participates in semi-complex inspection, testing, repair, assembly, equipment trial runs, investigative tests, related studies, processes, inspections and/or quality audits on low voltage drives, medium voltage drives, and printed circuit boards. Supports the gathering, recording and maintaining engineering specific information. Supports the preparation of semi-complex charts, graphs and diagrams and reports. Provides support with semi-complex testing and troubleshooting in a variety of engineering tasks. This position will also include tasks related to Material Receiving & Handling in the Repair Center. It will require collaboration with warehouse and shipping teams to provide seamless support for service operations. You will be responsible for ensuring materials are received, verified, organized, and available when needed, while maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach.

Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent required
  • Specialized skill training/certification may be required.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive working knowledge of a technical or specialty area, and of operations, methods, and practices.
  • Minimum 5+ years of successful experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
  • Ability to work and adapt in a team environment.
  • Ability to wear required safety equipment (safety glasses, safety shoes, arc flash rated clothing/equipment, and hearing protection).
  • Capable of maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work area.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Possess the ability to climb to different heights and work at heights above waist level
  • Ability to work overtime and flexible hours.
  • Math Skills required.
  • Good written and oral communication required.
  • Basic computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Explorer, and SAP

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in electrical engineering technology or equivalent preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience testing, assembling, repairing, inspecting, and troubleshooting low voltage and medium voltage drives and printed circuit boards.
  • IPC-610 Certification
  • Understanding of NFPA70E.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair products with voltages ranging from 0-3kV AC/DC.
  • Utilize test equipment including, but not limited to ohmmeters, voltmeters, scopes, current meters, hi-potter, variacs and other necessary or required equipment to complete the testing/trouble shooting process.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and hardware to wire and assemble drives and subassemblies.
  • Research, understand, and implement ISO procedures.
  • Wire and assemble systems to customer specifications using basic knowledge of drawings, supplier data sheets, purchase order requirements, and written & verbal instructions.
  • Document procedures and test sets as required.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance to maintain both internal and external (i.e. customer/agency) approvals.
  • Demonstrate ability to quickly learn and maintain proper build techniques within a specified area.
  • Display the capability to fabricate & modify, metal, glastic, lexan, and other various materials.
  • Implement various wire sizes ranging from 22-gauge 37 conductor shielded to 1000 MCM 15KV shielded cable.
  • Lift and position products, operate overhead cranes, fork trucks, and pallet jacks to assist with the lifting & control of moving/positioning of product under supervision.
  • Assist in basic plumbing duties within a designated area if required.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures when loading, unloading, moving, and handling materials.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against RMA’s, purchase orders, invoices and / or other documentation.
  • Accurately document and record all incoming and outgoing inventory in the ERP system (SAP)
  • Organize materials in designated areas for efficient accessibility, traceability, and flow.
  • Collaborate with shipping, receiving, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless material processing.
  • Assist with packing and preparing materials for shipment when required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with EHS standards.
  • Identify and share ideas for process improvements in receiving, material flow, and storage.
  • Participate in improvement activities to drive efficiency, accuracy, inventory accuracy initiatives and productivity.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned, such as preparing shipments, packing materials, and performing cycle counts.
