About The Position

The Repair Center Engineer for Leica Biosystems is responsible for performing maintenance, modification and/or repair of Leica Biosystems mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic and refrigeration instruments. This position is part of the Customer Support Group located in Richmond, IL and will be fully onsite. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives. You will be a part of the Repair Center Team and report to the Director of the Service and Repair Center responsible for managing the repair and distribution of the assets needed to ensure customer uptime. Requirements

  • Associate degree or Technical Certifications.
  • At least 1 year of experience in performing maintenance, modification and/or repair on mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic and refrigeration instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, modification and/or repair on mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic and refrigeration instruments.
  • Identify root cause of instrument malfunctions and determine feasibility of repair.
  • Disassemble, replace or repair defective parts.
  • Calibrate, adjust and certify overhauled or modified instruments.
  • Test, certify and harvest spare parts.
  • Support the warehouse returns department by identifying good and complete returned items including instruments and spare parts/assemblies.
