About the role Job Summary The Production Worker / Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. This role supports the manufacturing process by identifying defects, maintaining equipment, and following production protocols. This job profile is intended for support staff that follows established procedures and works under close supervision. Smaller/easier decisions are made autonomously.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to work in both English and Metric dimensioning
  • Must have good people skills and the ability to solve problems in a team environment
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs (excess of 50 lbs, use of slings, hoist or cranes required).
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (up to 12hrs).
  • Must be able to don required PPE for all operations included in the scope of this job (some protective equipment may present problems for persons with claustrophobia or asthma).

Responsibilities

  • Build Bearing Units Exchange assemblies to Sulzer specifications.
  • Identify and properly process incoming Bearing Unit Exchange cores from our customers.
  • Perform material handling activities within the Repair Team.
  • Perform all in-process quality inspections as described in the quality plans and work instructions.
  • Maintain inventory of assemblies associated with Bearing Unit Exchange program.
  • Follows quality procedures according to ISO 9001.
  • Safety obligations:
  • All employees understand and are able to explain the structure and objectives of the SBP.
  • All employees follow the safety rules.
  • All employees have "the right and duty to intervene" in the event a safety concern becomes evident. In addition, acceptance of an intervention should be accepted in a positive manner as it could have prevented an accident. All employees are required to comply with all work instructions, policies, and posted signs or instructions regarding safety, including but not limited to proper use of required PPE at all times.
  • Continually improve 5S program (Safety & Housekeeping)
  • Participate in continually improving work processes.
  • Preventive Maintenance
  • Assist other team members as directed, including training and assisting less experienced coworkers
  • Participate in inventory and cycle counting assignments
  • Work overtime as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
