The Opportunity This position works out of our Minnetonka, MN location for our Electrophysiology (EP) medical device business. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives. We’re seeking a collaborative and people-focused leader to guide a team of maintenance engineers and technicians. In this role, you’ll mentor and coach a diverse group of engineering and technical staff—helping them grow, stay aligned, and deliver high‑quality results. This position plays a critical role in team development, coordination, and daily operational success.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Minimum 4 years experience in manufacturing with continued progressive experience in repair and maintenance actions
  • Experience operating in a quality systems environment and regulated industry
  • Leadership experience and leading direct reports required

Responsibilities

  • Inspect completed work to check that repairs have been completed correctly by the maintenance technicians and that machinery and equipment conform to specifications and safety standards.
  • Monitor the condition of maintenance equipment, materials, parts, and tools that are used by maintenance workers in their day-to-day activities.
  • Coach and mentor maintenance technicians and assist them to diagnose more complex problems with machinery or equipment problems.
  • Prioritize and assign tasks so that the team’s resources are used effectively and that work schedules and targets are met.
  • Train new workers in the organization’s operating procedures and standards.
  • Manage 10+ direct reports across multiple shifts
  • Help support site projects and CAPA support as required
