About The Position

The Repair and Maintenance Engineer II is responsible for performing Maintenance Engineering support tasks to ensure the continuous operation of Heavy Duty Engine (HDE) Machining Operations. This includes machining operations for Blocks, Connecting Rods, Heads, Liners, and Turbo Machining & Assembly Operations. The Maintenance Engineer will maintain the operational readiness of all machining equipment and collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor, Controls Engineer, and members of the Operations & Quality Departments. The role involves providing mechanical engineering and technical support to a team of Skilled Trades, Controls & Process Engineers in diagnosing and repairing CNC and Assembly Machining Operations. The engineer will also support troubleshooting efforts for complex machining equipment downtime issues and assist in implementing machining monitoring systems.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient with PC hardware and commercially available software.
  • Knowledge of safety codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of fluid systems (pneumatic, hydraulic, coolant, and lubrication).
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and create drawings of equipment and circuits.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Maximo, SAP, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of metal cutting, press force monitoring, part marking, fastening, washing, and filter manufacturing & machining processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Maintenance Engineering support tasks for Heavy Duty Engine Machining Operations.
  • Maintain operational readiness of all machining equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Maintenance Supervisor, Controls Engineer, and Operations & Quality Departments.
  • Provide technical drawings and OEM documentation to the Machining Maintenance team.
  • Support critical machine breakdown repairs across all shifts.
  • Assist in troubleshooting complex machining equipment downtime issues.
  • Implement and support machining monitoring systems.
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineering team and equipment OEMs with specifications for new machines and upgrades.
  • Apply new technology and continuous improvement projects to existing machining processes.
  • Attend SFM meetings to improve equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Interpret machining equipment production data for machine upgrade projects.
  • Work with TPM group in planning and executing planned maintenance.
  • Identify critical spare parts and proper inventory levels for machining operations.
  • Create maintenance plan TIPs & SWIs and work with ME & OEMs for new machines and upgrades.
