About The Position

The position involves removing different products from a conveyor, inspecting them to customer specifications, and hand packing them in boxes, Multi-Vacs, Super-Vacs, and cryovac bags. The role reports to the Processing Manager/Supervisor and is classified as non-exempt. The job functions include receiving packing orders, ensuring correct packing materials are available, visually inspecting product quality, monitoring machines for operation and safety problems, checking packages for leaks and foreign objects, packing products into designated cartons, placing identification labels on cartons, and reporting discrepancies. The employee is required to follow all GMPs and safety regulations and complete other duties as assigned by management.

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and conversions to determine amounts and sizes of products needed for orders.

Responsibilities

• Receives packing orders and determines that correct packing materials are available at packing station.
• Notifies material handler if additional materials are needed for the packing run.
• Visually inspects quality, weights, and specifications of product, setting aside defective items.
• Constantly monitors machines for operation and safety problems.
• Checks packages for leaks, discoloration, and foreign objects inside the package.
• Packs packages of product into designated cartons per specifications on the customer order.
• Places identification labels on cartons.
• Reports discrepancies to leads or supervisor.
• Follows all GMP's and safety regulations.
• Completes other duties as assigned by management.
