This position measures and monitors conformance with pipeline and electric requirements as well as company policies to maximize public safety and mitigate risks associated with utility operations. The quality control specialist is responsible for confirming utility operational risks, their mitigation plans, evaluating utility process safety culture, gathering data to measure operational controls, executing quality assurance test plans, and completing utility work order completions to ensure accurate financial and geospatial mapping postings. Additionally, this position will perform document quality review of records associated with utility installation, operations, and maintenance; evaluating the effectiveness of work order management processes. This position is responsible for supporting continuous improvement projects within the Utility Operations.

  • Completes work order completion processes; prioritize and track issues through resolution including communication of results to key stakeholders
  • Completes contract service invoice review and payment processing for some utility work types and regions.
  • Creates and analyzes reports to verify accuracy and timeliness of work order origination, completion and error reporting including 60-90-120-day, Retirement, Unitization, and CWIP reports.
  • Conducts systematic record audits to ensure company records are accurate and complete; recommends improvements to record management systems and/or work order processes to ensure the integrity of company records.
  • Works with operations to make necessary adjustments and corrections to incorrect work orders.
  • Performs Quality Assurance Testing to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Identifies improvements to policies and procedures and effectively communicates these ideas to management.
  • Assists in data compilation for government audits.
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • In lieu of a degree, will consider a combination of education and utility related experience totaling four (4) years, where each year of applicable college = 1 year and each year of applicable work experience = 0.5 year. Experience in lieu of education is in addition to the Experience requirements.
  • Requires a minimum of 3-4 years of gas or electric distribution experience, including 1 year working with the SAP managing work orders and running list edits.
  • ASQ Certified Auditor or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • Use of corporate systems including but not limited to SAP, FileNet, ServiceHub, ERSI
  • Use of data analytic software and data visualization software like PowerBi and Tableau
