About The Position

The Phlebotomist II position in Northfield, MN is a full-time role that operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with rotational weekends. This position is responsible for collecting specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screenings, and insurance exams. The role requires the ability to navigate computer systems for data entry and verification of test/client information, as well as processing specimens and performing non-patient facing duties such as inventory management and compliance with departmental policies. The position also involves maintaining phlebotomy logs and completing required training courses.

Requirements

  • Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
  • Flexibility to work based on staffing needs, including weekends and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Responsibilities

  • Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screenings.
  • Administer oral solutions as per training.
  • Research test/client information and verify orders using lab technology systems.
  • Accurately enter data and billing information, and collect payments when necessary.
  • Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, and preparing for transport.
  • Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory management and sanitizing work areas.
  • Comply with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist with compiling and submitting statistics and data as required.
  • Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner.
  • Complete online and in-person training courses.
