About The Position

The Phlebotomist I position in Bradenton, FL is a full-time role that operates on a day shift from Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with rotational weekends. The role involves collecting specimens according to established procedures, administering oral solutions, and processing specimens for transport. The position requires effective communication and data entry skills, as well as compliance with departmental policies and protocols. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screenings.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information and collect payments when required.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test order.
• Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory management, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and utilizing email.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
• Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner.
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
