About The Position

The Rental Yard Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the rental yard by performing various tasks that support customer service, equipment management, and facility upkeep. This position is responsible for greeting customers, assisting with loading and unloading rental equipment, inspecting and documenting equipment for damages, ensuring equipment is serviced, cleaned, and maintained, and keeping an organized and safe work environment. The Rental Yard Specialist is also responsible for maintaining strong communication with rental counter staff, location managers, customers, and team members to ensure high-quality service and operations. The role includes regular inspections of fleet vehicles and equipment, adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining common areas in the facility.

Responsibilities

Greet customers in a professional and friendly manner, ensuring a positive experience.
Assist customers with loading and unloading rental equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Ensure all equipment is captured in photographs during the check-out process for documentation and inspection.
Ensure all rental equipment is properly serviced, cleaned, and maintained prior to being put on the rent-ready line.
Inspect returned equipment for damages, report any issues, and initiate repairs as necessary.
Perform daily forklift and fleet vehicle inspections using the Whip Around app to ensure proper functioning and compliance.
Work with the Head Rental Yard Specialist to ensure that all equipment is double checked before being placed on the rent-ready line.
Communicate fuel levels and cleanliness of the equipment to the rental counter for accurate record-keeping and customer expectations.
Maintain a clean and organized rental yard, ensuring all equipment is properly stored and easily accessible.
Clean and maintain common areas within the facility, including the kitchen and restrooms.
Ensure the yard is free from hazards, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
Help load and unload equipment from transport trucks as needed, ensuring proper loading and securing of equipment.
Maintain strong communication with Rental CSRs, Location Managers, customers, and fellow team members to ensure smooth operations and coordination.
Use radios properly to maintain clear and timely communication across the yard and departments.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself, your team, and the customers.
Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures regarding equipment handling, service, and documentation.
