About The Position

Quinn Company is seeking a Rental Technician to support our rental fleet by inspecting, maintaining, and repairing Caterpillar and allied equipment. This role focuses on fast, high-quality turnaround to ensure rental machines are safe, reliable, and ready for customers. Requirements

One-year certificate or Associates degree from a community college or technical school
Two to four years mechanical experience or equivalent education and experience.

Responsibilities

Performs advanced diagnostics and complex repairs on Caterpillar and allied rental equipment
Inspect rental equipment upon return and prior to re-rental
Perform preventive maintenance (PM services, fluids, filters, inspections)
Diagnoses and repairs mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
Identify damage or excessive wear and document findings
Prepare equipment to be rent-ready in a timely manner
Ensure all machines meet safety and compliance standards
Use Caterpillar diagnostic tools and service manuals
Support field service calls and shop as needed
Maintain a clean and organized work area
PM services, 90-day bits, ansi
Replacing or rebuilding parts like engines, transmissions, and hydraulics
Documenting repairs and service report
Responding to breakdowns at customer job sites
Swapping or repairing machines quickly to minimize downtime
Ability to operate equipment and function test machines
Follows all safety rules and maintains quality housekeeping in work area
Adhere to manager’s and lead mechanic’s directions regarding all repairs and service calls
Perform other work-related duties as directed or assigned
Required to work overtime if needed
