Rental Staff - Cross-Country Skiing
About The Position
Join our team and help more people get outside this winter! Charles River Recreation provides affordable, accessible outdoor fun in the Boston area - including cross-country skiing in the winter and paddling (kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding) in the warmer months. We offer a relaxed, supportive work environment with competitive pay and great perks. This position is part-time and depends on snow conditions. For those who enjoy the work, there's a strong possibility to continue into the spring and summer at our kayak rental locations. Requirements
- Enthusiasm for outdoor recreation in all seasons.
- Experience in customer service is preferred.
- Cross-country skiing, paddling, or other outdoor recreation experience is a plus.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in winter conditions.
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
- Multilingual skills are appreciated but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day operations in the ski rental room.
- Help customers get fitted with skis, boots, and poles; clean and wax skis as needed.
- Ensure safe and smooth access to trails and outdoor areas.
- Provide friendly, helpful customer service to all guests.
- (Optional) Lead beginner ski lessons or group activities-training provided for interested staff.
