Altorfer Rents has partnered with Heartland Community College to establish the Rental Service Technician/ Construction Equipment Mechanic Certification , a certificate program for entry-level rental equipment service technicians. The purpose of this program is to train technicians to service Cat and other products and obtain full-time employment after graduating from the program. Altorfer sponsors certain students to attend the program and upon completing the program, student will earn a Certificate in Construction Equipment Mechanic. The Rental Service Technician/Construction Equipment Mechanic Certificate Program is a great opportunity for anyone interested in going to school to learn a skilled trade in a high-demand industry. Students will go through a two-semester curriculum where they rotationally attend Heartland College, in Normal, IL for 16 weeks and then attend an Altorfer Rental store branch to complete an 8-week internship comprised of shop, Altorfer e-learning, and Altorfer instructor-led time. During internship students will perform in shop service and repairs at our Decatur, Illinois repair center. Focusing primarily on Altorfer Rents fleet (allied branded mobile elevated work platforms, cranes, air compressors, pumps, etc.) while at the dealer store. Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical and all other systems. Attend the Altorfer Training Center for additional, required Altorfer courses. May perform other related duties as requested and/or assigned.
