About The Position

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington D.C., is hiring a Rental Sales Representative in Winchester, Virginia. The Rental Sales Representative is responsible for promoting Caterpillar equipment and Allied product rental and to affect the rental of all products assigned to the Division's rent-to-rent fleet to all customers and markets in accordance with the policies of Carter Machinery Company, Inc. We are currently offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for new hires, with $2,500 payable after 90 days of employment, and the remaining $2,500 payable after 180 days of employment.

Requirements

• Minimum two years' sales experience.
• Experience in a closely related industry such as material handling, construction, engineering, or equipment distribution.
• Self-starter able to work with limited supervision.
• High mechanical aptitude required.
• Excellent customer satisfaction skills.
• Good listening skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Innovative and creative with the ability to adapt to changing technology.
• Clean driving record and a valid driver's license.
• Ability to tow and operate equipment for demonstration purposes.
• Ability to handle large volumes of work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Promote Caterpillar equipment and Allied product rental.
• Affect the rental of all products assigned to the Division's rent-to-rent fleet.
• Service existing customers with periodic scheduled visits.
• Effectively prospect potential new customers.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
• Evaluate facts and maintain good judgment when making decisions.
