About The Position

Beltway Companies is searching for a Full-Time Rental Sales Manager to join our team! Beltway Companies is the Largest Heavy-Duty Truck Dealership in the Mid-Atlantic. We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused Rental Sales Manager to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing our rental operations by helping customers find the right heavy-duty truck solutions for their business needs. Existing customers will need to be maintained, and new customers will need to be acquired through selling cold and warm leads, attending relevant trade shows, and participation in organizations and associations. You’ll oversee our entire rental team, assist customers wherever needed, build strong relationships, manage rental contracts, and help drive overall rental department growth through continued customer acquisition. POSITION OVERVIEW: Overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Rental Department Help develop new rental business through outbound calls, networking, and relationship building Assist customers with rental inquiries and match them with the appropriate heavy-duty truck solutions Maintain up-to-date knowledge of available rental inventory, pricing through market analysis, and promotions Provide daily, weekly and monthly sales reports to management as required Develop and maintain policies and procedures for Rental Operations, to include: check-in/ check-out of equipment, vehicle files, customer files and daily yard checks Develop and maintain a system for daily yard checks reporting of rental utilization to management and marketing to focus on excess and under-utilized equipment Compare actual financial results monthly to the Business Plan and initiate corrective action as needed to ensure gross margin goals are accomplished Develop and maintain a system for customer insurance files, verifying customer coverage is documented and on file Develop and maintain a rental billing routine to ensure accurate and timely billing of rental charges to customers. Assist in collection of past due invoices as needed Maintain a current and accurate customer turndown log Daily interactions with the Service department to ensure rental equipment is maintained according to company standards and DOT regulations Hire, train and manage the Rental Sales and counter personnel

Requirements

  • Recommended minimum 3 year of relevant Sales Experience and Customer Relationship Management
  • A valid driver's license is required for this position, DOT card and CDL preferred
  • Must be able to operate vehicles in the yard
  • Proficiency with computers, rental software, and basic office applications
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Self motivation to continuously develop new leads and business partners

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of heavy-duty trucks or automotive/trucking industry is a plus
