About The Position

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Rental Manager in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The Rental Manager is responsible for managing and controlling the rental store/stores to ensure a safe, efficient and profitable operation to support the rental store/stores and corporate objectives by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate Team Members. Duties include managing the day-to-day interaction with the sales and service team, promoting rental services, and managing profit and loss for the rental store, especially branch-controlled expenses. The Rental Manager is tasked with developing employees’ growth through coaching, mentoring and training, and for maintaining a culture of safety and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years’ management experience in a service related industry
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent sales skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Must be able to function well in a high-volume and fast-paced environment
  • Must have an excellent driving record
  • Must be able travel frequently – overnight and out of town
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

  • Experience in the Rental Equipment Industry preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferred
