About The Position

The Rental Equipment Technician at Rolfson Oil is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on a variety of rental equipment, ensuring optimal operation and minimal downtime. This role requires a strong understanding of equipment diagnostics and repair, particularly in the construction and oil/gas sectors. The technician will work with a diverse fleet, including aerial work platforms and large-scale power-generators, and must adhere to safety regulations while maintaining accurate service records.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to maintain insurability with Company insurance.
  • At least two (2) years' experience repairing general construction equipment.
  • Diesel repair experience including common rail fuel systems and the use of electronic diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary with little or no advance notification.
  • Capable of performing a wide range of physical activities including pulling, reaching, bending, climbing, and kneeling.
  • Experience with hydraulics/pneumatics, wiring, and working on heavy equipment.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding technical documents, diagrams, and service manuals.
  • Welding, cutting, and fabrication skills.
  • Must provide own basic tools and storage for them.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair rental equipment.
  • Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions and performing preventive maintenance.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of services and repairs.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, following safety regulations.
  • Demonstrate dependability and consistent attendance.
  • Exhibit basic computer/typing skills and learn Microsoft products and other systems.
  • Obtain job-related certifications for specialty equipment including light towers, forklifts, and generators.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Identify engine components and operational issues.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance and lubrication on equipment.
  • Safely perform machine condition inspections and general fleet maintenance.
