About The Position
Westminster, an upscale senior living community located in central Austin, is seeking an experienced, hospitality minded candidate to work in our Plant/Maintenance Department as a Refurbisher/Renovation Specialist. The Refurbisher is responsible for apartment preparation for new move-ins and related work requests.
Requirements
- Must have trade skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, masonry and/or drywall.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English and perform basic arithmetic.
- Must be able to read blue prints and schematics.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience with trades such as plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, or drywall.
Responsibilities
- Completes carpentry work; hangs door frames and doors, installs cabinets, baseboards, handrails, appliances, prepares and installs shower systems and valves, bathroom fixtures, ceilings and AC.
- Performs drywall work; hanging sheet rock with tape and float sealing, repairing damaged sheet rock, etc.
- Applies various types of paint on several kinds of surfaces throughout the facility's interior and exterior.
- Completes plumbing and electrical work; connects current plumbing to newly installed plumbing and relocates electrical outlets and other apartment circuits including emergency call systems, telephone and TV cable.
