About The Position

Kinder Morgan is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America, operating approximately 83,000 miles of pipelines and 141 terminals. With a commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, Kinder Morgan is uniquely positioned to transport renewable natural gas (RNG) across its extensive pipeline network. The primary purpose of this position is to monitor and control terminal components at an RNG gas processing facility, ensuring efficient operation and compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of compressor, pump, and general processing plant operations.
  • Familiarity with gas and liquid processing theories and fundamentals.
  • Experience analyzing, adjusting, and making minor repairs on compressors, pumps, and associated equipment.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain all Operator Qualifications (OQ) applicable to the job classification.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable by the Company Insurance Carrier.
  • Mechanical aptitude on related equipment and basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office and other company software).
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and customer focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree in a related field.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, P&IDs, and other diagrams.
  • Knowledge of Company policies, procedures, and practices as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids, and high/low pressure systems.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control terminal components such as pumps, compressors, blowers, and natural gas compression equipment.
  • Start, stop, and operate engines/pumps and other equipment to maintain designated operating parameters.
  • Assist in the planning and performance of maintenance and repairs on compressors, engines, turbines, auxiliary equipment, pumps, and process controls.
  • Ensure the cost-effective and efficient performance of all gas and liquid processing units and associated equipment.
  • Monitor product quality to ensure specifications are met and take appropriate actions when out-of-specification product is identified.
  • Notify personnel of the status of system operations and perform other duties as assigned.
