Requirements
- 2-4 years of renewable energy experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical safety, arc flash standards, and NEC.
- Proficiency with advanced diagnostic tools.
- Advanced working knowledge of wind/ solar industry best practices and the ability to effectively coach, instruct, and train less experienced technicians.
- Working knowledge of the NEC and OSHA regulations.
- Must meet Qualified Electrical Worker standards and have competency in system software and industry standards.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and structures to heights of over 300 feet (91 meters) and work at those heights and in confined spaces.
- Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain) and in an electrical-mechanical environment with high voltage/stored energy.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 35 pounds and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Due to weight restrictions for fall-arrest equipment, the maximum employee weight must not exceed 285 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Performs unsupervised advanced corrective and preventative maintenance and leads major repairs.
- Acts as a subject matter expert (SME).
- Trains and signs off on the competency of Techs 1-3.
- Assists with overseeing site crews/contractors in manager absence.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, and lead site safety assessments.
- Maintain company property and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Accurately complete all administrative work, including daily maintenance logs, work orders, time tracking, and warranty/inventory documentation.
- Attend all required safety and technical training.
- Maintain the highest level of system integrity and support site budget control by seeking efficiencies.
- Technician levels 2-5 participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for system monitoring and fault identification.
