About The Position

The Rendering Worker position is a full-time role on the 3rd shift at RVI-Temperanceville, VA. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring product throughout the processing phase and maintaining communication with various teams to coordinate equipment adjustments. This role involves operating computers that control the facility, resetting breakers, starters, and variable frequency drives, and identifying motor controls or equipment for correct lockout procedures. The worker will also monitor controls, relay temperatures, gate positions, and speeds, operate computers and electrical equipment, and perform quality assurance and HACCP duties as assigned. The position requires the ability to sit for long periods and distinguish colors of flashing lights, and the candidate must be willing to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

  • At least 6 months of experience in receiving/preparation, floor operator/feather, feed, pet food, loadout, grinding room, and environmental.
  • Ability to sit for long periods and observe a computer screen.
  • Ability to distinguish colors of flashing lights.
  • Willingness to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge/experience in receiving/preparation, floor operator/feather, feed, pet food, loadout, grinding room, and environmental.
  • Electronics background.
  • Basic PC skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor product throughout the processing phase.
  • Maintain communication with receiving/preparation, floor operators, grinding room, and loadout.
  • Operate computers that control the facility.
  • Reset breakers, starters, and variable frequency drives as needed.
  • Identify motor controls or equipment and relay information for correct lockout.
  • Monitor controls, relay temperatures, gate positions, and speeds.
  • Operate computers, volt meters, electrical equipment, centrifuge/analysis machines, and basic hand tools.
  • Report any unsafe items to the supervisor.
  • Reset controls in the motor control center.
  • Follow plant safety rules.
  • Perform QA/HACCP duties as assigned.
  • Communicate via two-way radio.
