About The Position

RENDERING SUPERVISOR DIVISION: Pork POSITION: Rendering Supervisor - 2 nd shift DEPARTMENT: Rendering LOCATION: Marshalltown, IA SALARY CLASS : Exempt REPORTS TO: Rendering Superintendent INTERNAL CANDIDATES MUST HAVE LESS THAN 3 ATTENDANCE POINT IN ORDER TO APPLY QUALIFICATIONS: Extensive knowledge and technical skill of rendering facility. Prior supervisory experience highly recommended. Good interpersonal relations; ability to handle conflict. Good verbal and written communication skills. Good mechanical aptitude. Work 40+ hours per week in rendering facilities Possible exposure to slippery floors, extreme temperature variations, loud noise, strong odor, chemicals, machinery and vehicles. RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise, evaluate and direct personnel on shift in performing operations according to sound operating principles and company policies and procedures. Stimulate maximum efficiency and productivity of rendering employees; ensure proper training of employees. Anticipate and determine causes of delays in operations and take appropriate actions to meet schedules. Apply company employee relations policies in all dealings with employees. Monitor and confirm that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized for efficient production. Arrange to have appropriate records prepared and maintained (i.e., payroll, vacations, orders, weights). Arrange for trucks and railroad cars to be filled with appropriate product when scheduled; complete necessary paperwork. Work closely with other supervisors and management to promote efficiency and teamwork in each department and in plant facility.
