About The Position

Clemens Food Group is seeking a dedicated Rendering Operator to support daily operations in our rendering department. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of equipment used to process pork by-products into usable materials, supporting our sustainability and food safety goals.

Requirements

• Comfortable working in hot and cold environments
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
• Proficient in basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
• Must speak, read, and understand English
• Willingness to work overtime and some Saturdays
• Not afraid of heights; must work on silo platforms (approx. 60 ft)
• Experience or willingness to learn chemical and high-pressure hose use

Nice To Haves

• Experience in food production, sanitation, logistics, or mechanical roles
• Familiarity with LOTO, HACCP, and industrial cleaning procedures
• PIT certified or prior forklift operation a plus

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as cookers, dryers, presses, mills, blowers, conveyors, and pumps
• Manage truck loading, tanker sanitation, and yard truck movement for weighing/loading trailers
• Use touchscreen controls, buttons, and switches to monitor systems
• Perform cleaning/sanitation duties including tank washing, trash removal, and chemical handling
• Execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for setup, teardown, and light maintenance
• Maintain compliance with HACCP protocols using an iPad for product safety and quality tracking
• Work safely at heights up to 60 feet to clean silos and pipes
• Use forklifts (PIT) and potentially low boys for material handling
• Handle pork offal (e.g., heads, blood, guts, hair) as part of raw material processing
