The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time). Pay Range: $17.25 - $25.06 Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Position Overview Breaks down and cleans the hemodialysis machines according to policies and procedures. Disinfects beds/chairs, bedside tables and treatment area counters according to policies and procedures. Makes beds/chairs accordingly to policies and procedures. Completes set ups efficiently for the next shift of patients. Maintains acceptable levels of dialysate in storage tanks by checking daily. Maintains all par levels for laboratory, bicarbonate powder, dietary supplies, syringes and supplies that are not supplied by Central Supply or Receiving Departments. Maintains 5 bicarbonate jugs throughout the day. Restocks accurately unit supplies; linens, foam care and prevacare dispensers, nurse station drawers and closets, bleach, vinegar and all stations emergency equipment. Completes the Dialysis Assistant Duties Checklist accurately daily. Follows instructions closely and reports patients complaints and pertinent observations to the nurse accurately and on a timely basis. Handles and serves patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort. Transports and sets up oxygen in patient room/station under the direct supervision of a professional nurse. Aids and/or feeds patients with meals efficiently. Monitors patients to provide a safe environment. Applies pressure to needlestick sites after treatments until bleeding subsides following universal precautions and strict hand washing techniques. Monitors activities to identify necessary equipment and unit repairs. Displays a willingness to adapt to changing department demands. Monitors the cleanliness of the patient's waiting area. Cleans the bicarbonate room, water ports and nurses station sinks. Empties, disinfects and rinses bicarbonate jugs and priming buckets after each use. Monitors all eye wash stations, weekly. Demonstrates reliability through attendance and punctuality. Monitors refrigerator logs, daily and communicates timely out of range findings to the charge nurse. Maintains and operates the Bicarbonate and Distribution System.
