The Removal Technician is responsible for the care, removal and transport of human remains in accordance with all state, local and company policies and procedures. This role involves respectfully caring for the deceased, adhering to all professional, municipal, state/provincial, and federal licensing and/or authority regulations. The technician must maintain a log of all deceased in their care and those transferred. They are expected to promote a safe work environment by practicing universal precautions and adopting general principles of safe conduct. Key duties include performing removals of deceased from various locations such as hospitals, nursing homes, residences, prep rooms, or embalming facilities, and transporting them to a mortuary or funeral home. The technician is also responsible for ensuring the removal vehicle is clean, properly maintained, and adequately stocked with Personal Protective Equipment. This is a Non-exempt position.
