The Removal & Reinstall Technician at Sunrun plays a crucial role in the solar removal and reinstall construction crew, working closely with the Foreman to ensure efficient and high-quality installation of solar systems on residential roofs. This position involves teamwork, technical skills, and a commitment to safety and customer service.

  • Work within a three person team to remove or reinstall the racking system and solar panels on residential roofs.
  • Review inventory at loading dock to ensure assigned crew truck is adequately stocked.
  • Layout and assemble solar modules, mechanical and structural mounts, electrical equipment and tools in preparation of installation.
  • Apply weather sealing to roofing structure, building or support mechanisms.
  • Remove and assemble racking, solar modules, panels or support structures as specified in the project plan.
  • Maintain a high quality of installation.
  • Maintain and communicate supply and equipment issues to properly address all service call needs.
  • Maintain regular communication with field performance techs and Performance Call Center.
  • Ensure work performed by all electricians is of good workmanship and compliant with current NEC and local codes.
  • Troubleshoot system problems and resolve electrical issues.
  • Perform project clean up including client site and installation vehicle.
  • Ensure personal, crew and job site safety at all times.
  • Participate in mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology and safety.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous solar, construction or military experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to adhere to company safety policies and procedures, including identifying and reporting safety hazards.
  • Ability to interact with customers and coworkers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and key metrics, working independently and as a team player.
  • Experience in solar installation or construction is a plus.
  • Military experience is preferred.
