About The Position

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Seamstress to sew and assemble custom removable insulation covers used in oil & gas and industrial applications. This role focuses on producing durable, high-quality thermal covers for piping, valves, and equipment in demanding environments. Duties & Responsibilities: Sew and assemble removable insulation covers from patterns and specifications Work with industrial and high-temperature fabrics such as fiberglass and silicone-coated materials Install fasteners including Velcro, snaps, straps, and flaps Inspect finished products for quality, fit, and durability Collaborate with supervisors, foremen, and pipefitters on measurements/job requirements. Measure, cut, and sew insulation materials such as fiberglass, foam, and removable insulation blankets. Fabricate custom‑fitted insulation covers and jackets. Use knives, scissors, measuring tools, and fastening systems to fit insulation precisely. Maintain accurate measurements to ensure proper coverage and energy efficiency. Follow OSHA, site‑specific, and company safety protocols. Ensure daily housekeeping of work areas, sewing shop, and tools. Document completed work and maintain inventory of materials. Support installation crews in the field when needed. Required Skills & Abilities: Ability to work with thick or specialty materials Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship Manufacturing or oil & gas fabrication experience preferred Education & Experience Basic: A minimum of 1 year of oilfield industry-specific experience. Knowledge of Oilfield insulation and tin fabrication experience Sewing experience (industrial or heavy-duty preferred) Education & Experience Preferred: Industry or manufacturing experience supporting oil & gas operations Physical Requirements The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job (but are not limited to). The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods of time, unassisted. The incumbent must wear a respirator when required. Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate industrial machinery are required. This job also requires full range of body motion to include handling and lifting. The incumbent must repeatedly lift and/or move up to 65 (SIXTY-FIVE) pounds unassisted. Visual acuity, hearing, speaking, reading, and writing must be adequate to perform all required tasks in a safe manner. Work Environment The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Work is usually done outdoors and sometimes at a client facility or job site and is frequently performed in inclement and/or extreme weather conditions. The incumbent is exposed to moving electricity, mechanical parts, vehicles, equipment, and hazardous materials. This position regularly requires long work hours and frequent weekend work.
