About The Position

TEKsystems is looking to bring on an IT Infrastructure Engineer–level resource to support operational workload as well as several upcoming infrastructure initiatives. This role will be 100% remote, working typical Alaska business hours Monday through Friday. This position will be highly hands‑on and will work closely with the Infrastructure Architect and internal IT teams. We’re supporting a key technology organization located in Palmer, Alaska and are looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to assist with both day‑to‑day operations and upcoming infrastructure initiatives. This will be a fully remote hands‑on technical role supporting a mixed on‑prem and cloud environment. What You’ll Do Manage and support physical and virtual infrastructure (servers, storage, networking, virtualization, cloud services) Monitor system performance, availability, and security Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues across on‑prem and cloud environments Participate in disaster recovery, business continuity, and incident response activities Implement or support security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, patching, system hardening) Deploy or maintain technologies including Windows Server, VMware/Hyper‑V, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and related platforms Collaborate closely with Infrastructure Architecture and internal IT teams to ensure stability and reliability What We’re Looking For Strong hands‑on experience with enterprise infrastructure technologies Solid troubleshooting capability across systems, networks, and virtualization Experience supporting both operational workload and project‑based initiatives Security‑minded with familiarity in patching, hardening, and core security controls Someone proactive, execution‑focused, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities If you’d like to learn more, I’d be happy to share details and discuss whether it could be a strong fit for your background.
