Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Windows Engineer with expertise in AWS to join our government consulting team. This position is fully remote and requires a DoD Secret clearance. As a Windows Engineer within the Army Edge Computing Capability (AECC), you will play a crucial role in supporting the migration and ongoing maintenance of enterprise applications on Amazon AWS. Your responsibilities will include working closely with clients to understand their application environments, assessing architectural needs, and designing solutions that emphasize cloud-native approaches. You will be responsible for creating and submitting documentation for application deployment and upgrades to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that all processes are well-documented and compliant with government standards. In this role, you will deploy and manage cloud infrastructure to support client applications, oversee the daily administration and support of Windows-based virtual machines, and implement security hardening for Windows services in alignment with best practices and government cybersecurity requirements. You will also troubleshoot and conduct root cause analysis for any Windows-related issues, coordinate and execute major OS version upgrades for virtual machines, and develop and maintain comprehensive system, infrastructure, and process documentation, including system diagrams, network topology, and standard operating procedures. Additionally, you will develop, deploy, and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for Windows-based services, troubleshoot and analyze issues across network, storage, operating system, and application layers, and administer the Amazon AWS portal for ALTESS cloud customers. This includes managing AWS resources and configuring alerts and notifications. You will provide on-call support to address and resolve after-hours production incidents and recommend improvements to enhance security, scalability, manageability, and performance across various network, storage, and compute technologies.
