About The Position

A Kforce client is seeking to hire a Remote Sr. Visual FoxPro Developer in San Diego, California (CA). The Remote Sr. Visual FoxPro Developer will contribute across the entire development cycle (analysis, design, code, test, initial pilot/production launch, and production support) with the primary focus on analysis, solution design, and mentoring development staff. Responsibilities include architecting FoxPro Software products, developing innovative technical solutions, and setting product direction to address industry business problems. The role also involves directing and participating in research and prototype development to validate solutions and new technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science; Master's degree preferred
• 10+ years of software development experience with 5+ years spent designing and developing software solutions applications
• 5+ years of Visual FoxPro experience
• Experience in project development and/or methodologies experience in full system development lifecycle, Agile, etc.
• Previous team lead and/or software architect experience
• Strong integration design, development, UI design, and development experience
• Experience in conducting development activities using stringent source code control procedures
• Excellent working knowledge of computer programs
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in FoxPro programming

Nice To Haves

• Experience migrating VFP to .Net is a plus

Responsibilities

• Architect FoxPro Software products
• Develop innovative technical solutions and set product direction to address industry business problems
• Direct and participate in research and prototype development to validate solutions and new technologies
• Contribute across the entire development cycle (analysis, design, code, test, initial pilot/production launch, and production support)
• Perform complex product design activities which may require extensive research and analysis
• Participate in product design meetings
• Review and analyze existing solutions and client requirements, providing recommendations for extension and customization
• Work closely with the team lead in working with project teams
• Perform software testing and quality assurance
• Participate in software development activities such as designing, coding, and debugging applications
• Lead or participate substantively in non-project-based activities which strengthen the organization
• Perform software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, and software reliability analysis
• Support, maintain, and document software functionality
• Integrate software with existing systems
